About
Established in 1819 on Piazza Campo de' Fiori, Forno Campo de' Fiori is one of Rome's oldest bakeries, best known for pizza bianca -- a plain, olive-oil-and-salt flatbread pulled from the oven roughly every 20 minutes and sold by weight, often split and filled with mortadella. Alongside it, the counter turns out pizza rossa with tomato, focaccia topped with zucchini flowers, anchovies or potato, and seasonal specials like prosciutto and fig. There is no seating -- locals and visitors eat standing on the piazza, wrapped in the bakery's paper.
